The Lions and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) Chinese Medicine Charity Foundation (CMCF), jointly set up by the University and the Lions Club International District 303 - Hong Kong & Macao, China in September 2007, is entering its 15th anniversary this year. CMCF has supported a recent initiative of online Chinese medicine consultation and medicine delivery service launched by the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine by sponsoring 1,000 quotas for distribution via the elderly centres under various non-profit organisations, e.g. Po Leung Kuk, Yan Oi Tong, The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, YWCA Jockey Club Y Care (Sha Tau Kok). Through this campaign, elderly who are over 65 years old can receive free online consultation services at elderly centres from 1 August 2021 till 31 July 2022. CMCF received a donation of HK$200,000 from Mr Wong Ya Ming, Second Vice-President of Lions Club of Tuen Mun, earmarked for the above free online consultation services and HK$227,727 raised by a charity golf event organised by Lions Clubs International District 303 - Hong Kong & Macao, China, earmarked for the Privilege Scheme of Chinese Medicine Service for the Elderly, which provided financial subsidies for elderly people to seek treatment at HKBU Chinese medicine clinics. Representatives from CMCF expressed sincere gratitude to the donors at the cheque presentation ceremony held at HKBU‒Jockey Club Chinese Medicine Disease Prevention and Health Management Centre (Prevention Centre) on 9 September 2021.
