Privilege Scheme of Chinese Medicine Service for Elderly

Notice: Temporary suspension of accepting new applications and renewals for the Privilege Scheme, effective immediately and until further notice. Card holders with unused valid medical coupons could only use the subsidised medical services once and the maximum amount of cash vouchers that can be redeemed is HK$200 only. Card holders can still retain any remaining coupons until their expiration date.

 

  • Each successful applicant will be issued with a privilege card and vouchers with a total nominal value of $2000. Patients who redeemed the voucher for services provided by HKBU Chinese medicine clinics including consultation, treatment and prescription refill are required to pay $30 for each service.
  • With each voucher used, the cardholder can receive a free general consultation on internal medicine plus two packs of herbal medicine amounting to $110. Patient who redeemed the voucher for services of prescription refill, acupuncture, bone-setting and Chinese massage manipulation can save $100 for each voucher used. If the service charge exceeds $100, the extra amount will be borne by the patient.

Eligibility

An applicant shall meet ALL of the following criteria:
  1. Hong Kong residents aged 65 or over; and
  2. An individual on a low income or with financial difficulties who suffers from a chronic disease.

The Privilege Card and vouchers can only be used at the ten HKBU Chinese Medicine Clinics (including HKBU ‒ Jockey Club Chinese Medicine Disease Prevention and Health Management Centre) operated by the School of Chinese Medicine of HKBU.

Application and Approval Procedure

  1. Applicants are required to fill out Part 1 of the application form.
  2. All applications must be referred by a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner of HKBU Chinese Medicine Clinics who shall complete and sign Part 2 of the application form. Applications which are referred by social service agencies must be certified by a social worker's signature with the organisation chop.。
  3. The application form with Part 1 & 2 completed should be submitted to any of the HKBU Chinese Medicine Clinics.
  4. All applications shall be approved by the designate(s) of Lions Club International District 303.
  5. The application results will be sent to the HKBU Chinese Medicine Clinics and the referring organisation (if any).
