CMCF 15th Anniversary - Free Chinese Medicine Assessment Certificate and Cheque Presentation

 

The Lions and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) Chinese Medicine Charity Foundation (CMCF) jointly set up by the University and the Lions Club International District 303 - Hong Kong & Macao, China in September 2007 is entering its 15th anniversary this year.  CMCF held a "Free Chinese Medicine Body Constitution Assessment for Elderly" certificate and cheque presentation ceremony today (18 January).

 

With an aim to promoting health preservation and disease prevention, CMCF sponsored a total of 1,000 Free Chinese Medicine Body Constitution Assessment for Elderly certificates for distribution through the elderly centres under five non-profit organisations, viz. Po Leung Kuk, Yan Oi Tong, The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon and Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong as well as Lions Club of Tuen Mun, to support elderly over 65 years old to conduct a free Chinese medicine body constitution assessment by reservation at the HKBU ‒ Jockey Club Chinese Medicine Disease Prevention and Health Management Centre (Prevention Centre) from 1 January till 31 December 2021.  CMCF ordered 10,000 masks for the elderly who have completed the assessment and each elderly participant can receive a pack of five masks, while stock lasts.

Dr. Yang Junjun, Associate Director of the Clinical Division of SCM and Centre-in-charge of the Prevention Centre gave a brief introduction of the Chinese Medicine Four Diagnostic Instrument at the Centre which collects images of the tongue and face as well as pulse information on clients, the Chinese Medicine practitioners interview the clients to collect health information and make clinical analysis to determine their body constitution and assess their health condition.  They will then come up with individualised health preservation and management protocols for the clients.  For details, please refer to the link: https://embracehealth.org.hk

 

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of CMCF, Dr. Lam Hoi Ham, JP, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CMCF and Lions Club of Tuen Mun made a generous donation of $110,000 and $100,000 respectively for the Privilege Scheme of Chinese Medicine Service for the Elderly, which provides financial subsidies to underprivileged elderly people for seeking treatment at HKBU Chinese medicine clinics. Ms. Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary of HKBU, Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President and Director of the Clinical Division, School of Chinese Medicine (SCM), also Vice-Chairman of the Foundation, and Dr. Yang Junjun, Associate Director of Clinical Division of SCM and Centre-in-charge of the Prevention Centre, expressed sincere gratitude to the donors at the cheque presentation ceremony.
