In celebration of its 10th Anniversary, the Lions and Hong Kong Baptist University Chinese Medicine Charity Foundation (Foundation) hosted a fundraising dinner on 29 August 2016 at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. The dinner was well attended by some 300 guests including Dr. Lam Hoi Ham, JP, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation; Ms. Fung Mui Wan and Mr. Chan Tat Wah, Directors of the Board of Directors of the Foundation; Dr. Hung Yeung Pong Wah, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation; Mr. Billy Hung, Member of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation, and Mrs. Simmy Hung; Mr. Hung Kwong Yee and Mr. Lam Cheung Chuen, Members of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU; Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development); Professor Bian Zhao Xiang, Associate Vice-President and Director of the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; Mr. Edmund Li, Director of Finance; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement Office. The fundraising dinner raised over HKD 1.38 million for the “Privilege Scheme of Chinese Medicine Service for Elderly” in which elderly people in need could receive Chinese medicine treatment, health enhancement, disease prevention, clinical treatment, and hence increase the overall health standard among the elderly community.
