Strong support for distributing free influenza prescriptions to elders
In view of the outbreak of COVID-19 and the increase of confirmed cases, the Lions and HKBU Chinese Medicine Charity Foundation has been supporting SCM in distributing free Chinese Medicine influenza prescriptions to 1,000 elders aged 65 or above and chronic patients with a generous donation of HK$400,000. Starting from 12 February 2020, each eligible person can receive three doses of herbal medicines against influenza at eight clinics directly operated by the School. The Charity Foundation has also distributed over 10,000 free Chinese Medicine influenza prescriptions and 5,000 masks to elders through elderly centres under four different non-profit organisations – Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, Po Leung Kuk, the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon and Yan Oi Tong as well as Hong Kong Community Anti-Coronavirus Link since February.
